| BeadedStream was established in Anchorage, Alaska in 2004 as an independent company with the purpose of developing accurate, flexible, rugged, easy to use ground temperature data acquisition systems. BeadedStream remains headquartered in Anchorage and has installed standard and customized ground temperature measurement systems for engineering and scientific projects. Hundreds of temperature acquisition cables with thousands of digital temperature sensors have been installed in temporary and permanent applications throughout Alaska including Gakona, Bethel, Gambell, Barrow, Nome, Kasigluk, Kipnuk, Aniak, Anchorage, Prudhoe Bay, Milne Point, Kuparuk, Alpine and Cape Simpson. |
Brian Shumaker, P.E.
Brian has more than 10 years of experience building and using a variety of instrumentation for use onshore, offshore and even airborne in the Lower 48, Alaska and the South Pacific. He brings a broad background in geotechnical engineering, hydrographic surveying and atmospheric chemistry to the BeadedStream team. You can draw upon on his expertise to help solve your ground temperature sensing and logging needs.
Brian received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University in 1997. Since then he has pursued specialized training in soil and gas investigation methods, acquiring and processing side scan sonar and multibean bathymetry data, cone penetrometer testing methods, GPS survey training and geomechanical modeling.Brian is a licensed professional engineer and lives in Anchorage, Alaska with his wife, Jacqueline, and their children Shay and Malin.

Nicole Shumaker
Nicole earned her B.S. in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from Georgia Tech, during which time she supported herself as an undergraduate research assistant in first an atmospheric trace gas measurement group and later an atmospheric modeling group. During these stints on both sides of scientific research (experimental and theoretical) Nicole was impressed with two great lessons: 1) the quality of one's analysis is ultimately dependent upon the availability of reliable, comprehensive data, and 2) reliable comprehensive data can be extremely difficult to come by!
Post-graduation, Nicole applied her technical background and entrepreneurial tendency to a Business Development position for Applied Software—an integrator of design software technology. Nicole has successfully serviced the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry in progressive design technology for 8 years. Nicole is excited to apply her experience to make it much easier to get reliable data using digital temperature sensor cables systems that enable scientists and engineers to make good decisions about our natural and man made environments.
