Vibration monitoring now live in beadedcloud

beadedstream introduces vibration monitoring as part of our environmental insights toolkit.

Wind-induced vibrations (WIV) can lead to fatigue, damage, and significant maintenance costs across a variety of infrastructure types including pipelines, high-mast lights, and bridges.

beadedstream selected Omnidots SWARM sensors to integrate vibration data alongside weather and structural monitoring on beadedcloud, the platform for data and insights. Dozens of SWARM sensors deployed in a recent Arctic infrastructure project are enabling engineering teams to:

  • View real-time data on pipeline movement caused by winds
  • Visualize peak amplitudes and frequencies in real-time
  • Detect vibration events during windstorms
  • Generate weekly insight reports

“This addition strengthens our ability to serve customers operating in extreme environments,” said Brian Shumaker, CEO of beadedstream. “Vibration insights, especially when delivered alongside temperature and wind data, can transform how teams assess infrastructure risk and make faster, smarter decisions.”

Why it matters

In Arctic conditions, monitoring wind-induced oscillations is critical to preserving asset integrity and safety. This new integration reduces uncertainty and supports proactive infrastructure planning backed by sensor data.

Technology spotlight

Omnidots’ SWARM sensors were selected for their precision, reliability, and seamless integration with our cloud-based system. With triaxial acceleration, FFT-based frequency analysis, and real-time cellular connectivity, they are built for performance in remote, rugged environments.
