Brian R. Shumaker, P.E.
Brian leads Research and Development at Beaded Stream. He is actively involved in the process of defining customer needs, as well as providing technical and field logistics support. Brian has more than 15 years of experience building and using a variety of instrumentation in onshore, offshore and airborne settings across the Lower 48, Alaska and the South Pacific. He has a broad background in geotechnical engineering, hydrographic surveying and atmospheric chemistry.
Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. His specialized skills include: soil and gas investigation methods, side scan sonar and multibeam bathymetry data acquisition and processing, cone penetrometer testing methods, GPS survey training and geomechanical modeling. Brian’s inventiveness is not limited to engineering; he’s been known to construct a mean lasagna, with the help of his children, Shay and Malin.

Erik R. Williams, EIT, CAPM
Erik leads the production team to build beadedstream’s world-class sensors, data loggers, and data web app.
He is planning and structuring the business for continued growth so production can meet sales goals.
Erik has 5 years experience building and managing a variety of teams and projects in Robotics, Construction, and Manufacturing in Colorado and Alaska. He has a broad background in mechanical engineering, electrical devices, and project management/controls.
Erik received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). His specialized skills include: systems design, data analysis (business and research), and being an optimist by maintaining grit in difficult working situations. Erik enjoys spending time hiking in the Chugiak with his wife and two daughters Amelia & Zoe.
